Parent Testimonials
Elementary School

As a graduate of Central, being married to a graduate, and the daughter and daughter-in-law of graduates, I have seen the difference that a Central education can make and I would not want my children anywhere else.

From the peace mat, to daily chapels, to the clear ways that teachers demonstrate their love daily for the kids, Central is a community that instills the Christ-like values and qualities that I want my children to be surrounded by every day. I love the way the academics are challenging and tailored to each student's needs, while at the same time infusing the love of God in all things. It also gives me solid peace of mind knowing that other students and families hold onto the same values as our family.

When my husband, oldest son and I started our kindergarten journey last year, we started looking at our local public school. We always thought we’d send our children to Central Christian School, we just weren’t sure when. We decided to visit Central and we felt at peace and were impressed with the school. In each encounter with the faculty and staff at Central, I’ve been reassured that this is an amazing place.

As a parent, I believe my greatest job is to point my children to salvation and a relationship with God. When I realize that my child spends more awake time in school then at home, I am convicted of the fact that school is very important in reinforcing what is being taught at home and at church. My son could be in a public school with Christian teachers; however public teachers are not there to teach about God, that is not their job.

Mrs. Bilderback, Central’s Kindergarten teacher is amazing! She is available by email to address questions or concerns whether it is before or after school hours. She told me she loves her job and there isn’t a day that she doesn’t want to be there. Her classroom is very encouraging and she views everything as a teachable moment. While in the classroom waiting to leave for a field trip, Mrs. Bilderback prayed “God bless…” each child by name. I was touched and almost in tears, she cares about my child truly. I was relaying this to my husband and my child said Mrs. Bilderback does this everyday. It was meaningful to know that my child knows that she cares and she wasn’t just saying this when parents were around.

I really appreciate the closeness of the elementary school. My child has the chance to interact with “older kids” on a daily basis, whether it’s the 3 or 4th grader lunch helper, during recess or other activities. . It’s a wonderful opportunity for him to see older kids serving and to know that one day it will be his chance.

I am thankful for the communication lines at school. I know that, as in life, things will not always be perfect. I am so thankful to know that when concerns arise, I will be able to approach the teachers or Mrs. Taylor and they will be willing to work through the issues.

We have three children and this is their first year at Central. Right from the beginning we have been very impressed with the positive atmosphere at Central, the teachers and staff have been so friendly and helpful. We received a few phone calls several weeks into the year from teachers just to see “how it was going”! It’s very evident that the faculty and staff love what they do and care for the students. We love the fact that our children are incorporating God into their daily lives by learning the Bible and memorizing verses, along with all of the “normal” school work taught in a creative environment. We feel very confident about our decision to send our children to Central!

When you make the decision to send your children to a Christian school, sometimes folks see that as a rejection of public school. This may cause them to conclude that you think there is "something wrong" with your public school. We live in a great school district, with great schools...my wife, Bridgid, even teaches in our school district, so we know it as well as anyone. It's not so much that we are repelled by our public school, but more that we are attracted to what Central Christian has to offer. Our school district has many teachers who are Christians, but there's no way a public school can create an environment that is based on Christ's World view; where the teaching, the relationships, the curriculum, and the priorities are embedded so deeply in that World view. It's amazing to see how that impacts these young lives. These kids are tomorrow's leaders for our churches, our schools, and our businesses. Central is doing a great job of helping them rise to the challenge. Due to simple geography, or even lack of awareness, many families don't have the opportunity to be a part of something so profound. If you are within driving distance of Kidron, OH, you should take a look at Central Christian. Our family has been richly blessed by CCS in many ways.

Central Christian continues to be a great experience for Stephanie. I appreciate the effort the teachers and staff invest to get to know each student individually. They are available and easy to communicate with if questions arise. The music and drama programs are excellent and have provided a wide variety of opportunities for participation. The school fosters community among students and parents. I value the friendships and support from participating in the Moms in Touch prayer group which meets weekly throughout the school year.

As a 1973 graduate of Central Christian School, I have many fond memories as a student. The two things that stand out are the committed faculty who regularly pray for students and the emphasis of living a Christ centered life that permeated my high school experience.

Coming back as a teacher has been very rewarding. Early on I was able to teach with the role models of my youth and learn the craft of teaching and educating which included much more then just what happens in the classroom. Sharing ones faith in formal and informal settings make Central Christian a uniquely rich learning environment. I am also thankful that my children could experience this place where Christ is Central to all that we do.
