GENERAL INFORMATION QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
What is Scrip?

Scrip is a term that means “substitute money.” Scrip is gift certificates, gift cards or vouchers from national and local retailers. Scrip can be used the same as cash.

How does Scrip work?
Scrip certificates or gift cards are purchased for use at participating retailers or vendors. You place an order at full face value. The school Scrip program purchases gift cards or certificates at a discount, either locally or from a national Scrip supplier. You pay for your purchases with the gift card or certificate as you shop

Is this a fund-raiser?
Not really. We are not asking you to buy anything extra or sell anything to your families or neighbors. Just “shop with Scrip” for all your purchases, and the earnings will be applied to tuition and fees.

What is the benefit to me?
The discount earnings from Scrip purchases are split 70% for you and 30% for the school. The 70% user earnings may be used for tuition or fees. The 30% school earnings are used to cover expenses and purchase local Scrip inventory.

What does this cost me?
Nothing, other than some time and advance planning. There is no cost, no enrollment fee, and no obligation to buy anything.

Is this a charitable contribution?
No. When you purchase a $25 gift card, you pay $25 for it. Dollar for dollar value is received; therefore, it is not considered a charitable contribution and is not tax deductible.

Do I have to enroll before I can order?
Yes. Fill out the enrollment form either before or with your first order. Enrollment forms are available in all school offices and online at www.ccscomets.org

How will I hear about changes in the program?
An e-mail will be sent weekly with new vendors, changes in discount earnings, and other vendor information. Vendor lists will be updated weekly on the web, and a new list will be sent at least once a month with up-to-date changes.

Do you have any information for me to learn more about Scrip?
An information packet is available at the main office, Learning Center office, or can be mailed to you upon request. Additional information is also available on this site. (Click here to go to the Scrip home page)
